ArsFidelis stickers

Yesterday I received these stickers of St. Jean Vianney and the Blessed Virgin I bought from Myra Wilton at ArsFidelis Designs. They look and seem real nice; I still have to decide what to stick them on.

Happy Feast of the Annunciation!

Christ the King and other coloring pages in Little Flower Activity Book

High-res version available in the Little Flower Activity Book

Update: Miss Gieralt has gotten so many submissions to the project that she decided to separate it into two activity books, one religious and one non-religious. My pages are in the religious one, The Little Flower Activity Book. The non-religious Joyful Activity Book is here.

Aleksandra Gieralt is putting together an activity book of coloring pages, paper dolls, and pretty things by several artists for the amusement and uplifting of, particularly, people undergoing quarantine.

You can find it here, with three coloring pages of mine which were in the Liturgical Calendar Coloring Book but not used for The Day-by-Day Coloring Book of Saints: Christ the King, Our Lady of Atonement, and the Holy Name of Mary.

Enjoy, and hold fast to Christ amid these trials of pestilence and interdict!

From today's Matins

When they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another. And, a while afterward, He said: “When ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the Prophet, stand in the Holy Place, whoso readeth, let him understand, then let them which be in Judaea flee unto the mountains; let him which is on the house-top not come down to take anything out of his house; neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.”
-St. Athanasius
The stupidity of the Pharisees and Scribes is something extraordinary. They rebuke the Son of God because He doth not observe the traditions and commandments of men for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. It behoveth us to cleanse, not the hands of the body, but the hands of the soul, namely, our works, that we may do the commandments of God. But He answered and said unto them Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? He meeteth here their false accusation by a true. “How,” saith He, “do ye, who pass over the commandments of God, in order to keep to the traditions of men, hold that My disciples are to be rebuked, because they deem the tradition of the elders of little moment in comparison with the doing of what they know to be the Laws of God?”
- St. Jerome

Even were this the worst plague mankind has ever known, cancelling Mass is a terrible decision that shows a lack of faith in the Holy Sacrifice and Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!

Hungry Kitten coloring page

Elizabeth Fust, author of The Hungry Kitten's Tale, had me prepare a coloring page of the cover illustration. You can download the coloring page at her site. Here are some she took to a children's event!

I like how the nose is carefully colored and the rest is scribbled.

Sibyl character profile

Another profile of a character from my webcomic, Paper Doll Veronika. Sibyl's gun is a Lee Enfield bolt action rifle, although I forgot to draw the magazine. She's one of my favorite characters.

More character profiles are on the Bonus Material page.

Grandmamma Anastasia character profile

A character from my webcomic, Paper Doll Veronika. Grandmamma Anastasia is the embodiment of the "Glamma" concept, popular among vain elderly women of a certain generation. Personally, I think it's an abhorrent attitude, but I still endeavor to make her a likeable character in her own way.

More character profiles are to be found on the Bonus Material page.

Paper Doll Veronika Lenten lacuna

As you may have seen if you checked Paper Doll Veronika for its weekly update, I'm taking another break, and this is the longest one yet. I'll post again starting on Good Friday, April 10. I hope none will take this as irreverent. I chose carefully so that the most appropriate of the upcoming segments would land thereon, and I'll be more subdued about it than other updates.

This is mostly because the rest of March must all be given over to finishing the second volume of The Day-by-Day Coloring Book of Saints.

It will be a great relief to be all done with that after all this time, and then I'll be able to concentrate more on other projects and have some time for the preparations for my sister's wedding! Along the way, I've had some ideas for more coloring books along the same lines, but sold independently by myself as a printable pdf, like the Liturgical Calendar Coloring Book used to be. I won't say what it is, for fear that someone would take my idea, but one's for girls and one's for boys!

In addition to making a stockpile once again, I also want to develop more extra things for Paper Doll Veronika. There's the bonus art, character profiles, and bloopers on the Bonus Material page and I want to add character portraits; and you might notice at the top of that page I talk about something called the Paper Doll Club. Not everything I list for it is there yet, and that's okay because there are no members yet, haha! But I'm preparing more and more, and I'll get promoting it after this Lenten break is over.
