Legend of Zelda Medallions Quilt

We interrupt these snow drawings for my first quilt. It was fun to design, and addictive to sew. Except for piecing the silk; that was annoying.

I'd be willing to make more in this design as a commission. Let me know if you're interested.

By the way, this is my sewing machine:

Snow drawings I

I just returned from a two-week trip to Minnesota, where I took a peaceful time without internet access to concentrate on learning to draw snow. It's all for Beckyless, my graphic novel in which snow will feature prominently. I'll be posting the drawings I did over the coming days.

Thomas Tallis - Inspiration

Commissioned pen and ink portrait of Thomas Tallis, great English Renaissance composer of Catholic and Anglican religious music. I wanted to express a moment of inspiration, that moment when you're subcreating something and suddenly the thing that works comes to you like grace. And, the idea of expressing that was what came to me like that as I worked on this piece.

As he did live, so also did he die,
In mild and quiet sort (O happy man!)
To God full oft for mercy did he cry,
Wherefore he lives, let death do what he can.

Little Rory, Amy, and Mels

From Doctor Who. Trying to imitate Hayao Miyazaki's style, and falling short of course. ^_^
