Small show, birthday times

I have a wee little exhibition on now at Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Church as part of the Institutes of Catholic Culture Studies open house. Though it be small, there is a binder with the entire first four months of the Liturgical Calendar Coloring Book available for looking through. If you're in the Houston area you might want to check it out.

Today we celebrated my birthday. That meant attending the local Celtic Festival and Highland Games, with bagpipers everywhere, tons of men in kilts, and haggis for lunch! It was great.

And after last year,

Remember this?

I started a tradition: if I receive a figurine of an awesome character I place him atop my cake.

Our Lady of Fatima coloring page and commissions

Still working on the May pages... the Lent months have fewer feasts; I should've gotten ahead then! But don't worry.

If you'd like coloring pages of every single Saint's day, sign up here.

The family dog has some medical problems right now, and the bills are high. I'd like to mention that as well as the usual availability for painting commissions and design and illustration jobs, (which if you're interested in, email me at snowflakeclockwork [at] gmail [dot] com), I also take commissions for individual drawings. Here's the price list:

One character without background: Extra characters five dollars each.
Sketch- $5

Inked in black or a single color- $8

Inked in various colors- $10

Colored with Copic and Prismacolor markers- $20

Colored with ink washes- $30

One character with background: Extra characters five dollars each.
Sketch- $9

Inked in black or a single color- $12

Inked in various colors- $15

Colored with Copic and Prismacolor markers- $30

Colored with ink washes- $40

For two dollars shipping, I will mail you the original.

Half-off Special Offers:
A single character without background colored with markers for $10 if it's your Homestuck fantroll. I would like to draw a fantroll but I haven't got one of my own. (and about copyright; I have read from one of the Homestuck art team that Andrew Hussie is all right with people doing single unique commissions)

A single character with background colored with markers for $15 if it's a girl with pink hair and I can dress her Gothic Lolita style.

I accept Paypal and checks. Just email me at snowflakeclockwork [at] gmail [dot] com

Midnight Snow

Illustration intended for the December issue of Ink & Fairydust, but they're on hiatus right now. (They need a graphic designer with Photoshop and InDesign; if that's you, contact Shaylynn.) But hey, I think there's still snow in some places.

Joseph the Worker coloring page

Doing the coloring pages for May. It's looking to be a pretty emotional month in its feasts-- there's this, which was instituted as an answer to the Marxist takeover of May Day, and I feel strongly about Marxism; that's a case of, as Chesterton put it, being right about what's wrong but wrong about making it right.

Also in May is a feast for English martyrs, St. Damian of Molokai, Our Lady of Fatima, and a group of Mexican martyrs. So yeah, my drawings are getting on the intense side.

Al Sonoro Rugir del Canon de Plasma

This has been up on my DA and tumblr for a while, but I've been busy with the liturgical calendar coloring pages and a couple commissions, so well, I thought I'd post it here now.

It's official, the third Blue Beetle is my favourite superhero ever.

And as you might guess from the picture, he's Catholic and Mexican-American, and I just love it. In some comics, if a character's Catholic it's made into this big angsty thing, all SIN and VATICAN SECRETS oh how DARK and often with several inaccuracies. But with him, it's just there, subtle but definite, adding depth to several dramatic moments, undergirding his character and family, which are wonderful. (Though they still could've used an artist who knows how many beads are in a Rosary. Howbout me? XD)

Easter Victory

St. Pius V coloring page, with his vision of the victory of Lepanto. Notice how below the balustrade it's an ordinary view of St. Peter's square. I'm so clever! :D

I just sent out the April coloring pages. The Triduum and ill health delayed me a bit, but fortunately April Fools' Day is a feria. These were included:

St. Francis de Paola
St. Isidore
St. Vincent Ferrer
St. John Baptist de LaSalle
Divine Mercy
St. Stanislaus
St. Martin I
St. Anselm of Canterbury
St. George
St. Fidelis
St. Mark the Evangelist
St. Pierre Chanel
St. Catherine of Siena
St. Pius V

Easter is astonishing. I hope to make my first pysanky this year.
