This update has multiple animated pages! They were a ton of work, but very fun. This one isn't even my most favorite.

I am extremely pleased with this piece turned out. It was inspired, again, by that A Link to the Past official art I mentioned, as well as the work of Ma-ko, who in turn was probably influenced by that Zelda art.

One of the backer rewards for my Paper Doll Veronika book crowdfund was a custom, one-of-a-kind, articulated paper doll like the ones I use in the comic. And one the backers was Anthony Pacheco, writer of the comic The Sword of God. He requested a paper doll of Sword of God character Perry McNomNom, a former elite police dog, so here he is in all his doggy glory!

Inspiration for the McKenzie chapel

The current Paper Doll Veronika chapter is a crucial segment, and the setting is inspired by, and even made up of, some very awe-striking things.

The approach to the chapel was inspired by this piece of promotional art from The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past:

I think this is one of the best value-based compositions I've ever seen. It is my ambition to do a version of it as an oil painting.

The back wall of the chapel itself is made of a photograph I took of the ruins of Saint Brecan's church on Inishmore of the Aran Islands in Ireland:

And by Saint Brecan's church I do not mean it's merely named in his patronage; it is one he built and pastored.

The side columns of the chapel are from this antique Christmas card:

This is my favorite of all my extensive collection of greeting cards. It opens into three layers of architectural detail.

This is a sort-of remake of a drawing I did fifteen years ago, of a character from another comic, which I have written but still not drawn, called Beckyless:

I tried to use almost all of the same colors--Prismacolour markers, mostly, the very same ones. I hope my technique has improved.
