Mentioned Honorably!

My design won Honorable Mention in the Homestuck t-shirt design contest! That means you can buy a real t-shirt of it, if you like! You can do so here!

And you can see all the winners here!

Last photos of Texas--maybe

As I usually do before leaving on the Summer trip to Minnesota, I cleared out my digital camera's memory card to my computer. This year I'm moving to Minnesota for good, so these may be some of the last photographs I'll have taken of Texas...

From our tangerine tree.

On the practical side, I'll be without internet for maybe a few weeks, so probably no blogging for a while, but I'll use the public library to keep somewhat on top of things.

Weekly Holy Card-- St. Benedict

I didn't do the weekly holy card yesterday, but Sunday is suitable too.

This card has hand-written on the back in fountain pen ink:

From Abbot Valentine O.S.B. of St. Procopius

I did a little looking and I think this might be that abbot.

Fountain sketch

Once again, I had my students draw something and I drew it too. Now that class is out for the summer, and I'm all done teaching forever! It's funny, my family is full of teachers; my father and both my grandfathers worked all their working lives as teachers, my mother a lot of hers, and we're all pretty academically inclined, but I found I really don't like teaching. Even if the kids are good and the subject's one I like, I just don't like teaching. So, that's all done with, farewell!

Batman Decadence final designs

I finalized the character designs for the three main folks for my gothic lolita Batman fancomic Batman: Decadence. I am determined to start drawing the comic itself this year, because, you may have heard, it's the seventy-fifth anniversary of the subcreation of Batman!

Weekly Holy Card

Okay, second time for this new feature! I nearly forgot because I'm busy packing.

This card commemorates the ordination of Walter C. Dean, who was ordained February 2, 1944 at St. John's Cathedral in Milwaukee.
