Let the mirth recommence! It is a comics site after all. Chapter 19 of Part II of Paper Doll Veronika is complete on Arktoons!

You can also read it on my own website. (I recommend my site for PC and Arktoons for mobile.)

Paper Doll Veronika update

Paper Doll Veronika has updated; Chapter 21 of Part II, "Brinkbreak", is complete!

The update starts here.

I really like Veronika in this panel. I'd been neglecting wind as a dramatic factor; no longer!

It updates on Fridays on my site and Sundays on Arktoons. (My site is ahead). I recommend using bookmarking or the "Save your place" gadget on my site, even once you catch up, because the site starts at the beginning and updates are several pages.

Veronika Bosch, who's never left her father's estate, has to go on a journey when envious animals kick her out. Half collage, half puppetry, it's the traditional media equivalent of an elaborate sprite comic.

The Patience of Jon Del Arroz

Authors Larry Correia and Brad Torgosen have been attacking their fellow author Jon Del Arroz, I think because he uses internet controversy as a marketing strategy. Apparently that's a no-no? And they've attempted to use personal family troubles of Del Arroz as a weapon in their campaign, which is despicable.

So I thought I should add my voice to the character witnesses for Del Arroz.

Six years ago, I linked this blog post on Gab: A Pulp Revolution for the Comics Crowd with the comment: "How can I be a part of this?"

And Jon Del Arroz contacted me and offered to do a steampunk comic collaboration. I, who'd never published a comic before, and he, a popular indie writer who was making a steampunk splash at the time; you see what a splendid chance it was. Clockwork Dancer was born. We put out Issues #1 and #2 and made Number One New Release and Number One Best Seller in steampunk comics on Amazon, ahead of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen!

He put faith in me and has maintained it with incredible patience, since I've been very slow with Issue #3: he sent me the finished script two years ago, but because of family commitments and trials of my own, I've only done one page of it so far. I told him he could get another artist if he wanted, but he decided to stick with me, for which I am forever grateful. And as soon as I finish the current issue of Bovodar and the Bears, it will be back to Clockwork Dancer with new freedom and renewed fervor!

In sum, my experience with Jon Del Arroz has been one of his great generosity, helpfulness, and patience. And if you like steampunk, sci-fi, superhero comics, or fantasy comics, he has something you'll probably enjoy!

In the meantime, you can read Clockwork Dancer on Arktoons and buy it on Amazon!

Lack of Mirth continues on Arktoons

Despite the fact that you can see gaps between the papers, I'm pleased with this panel. The multi-page backrgounds are hard, man. It'd be easier if I used a bigger table.

It updates on Fridays on my site and Sundays on Arktoons. (My site is ahead). I recommend using bookmarking or the "Save your place" gadget on my site, even once you catch up, because the site starts at the beginning and updates are several pages.

The watercolor and scrapbook paper-collage colors of this one melded well with the photo-collage background.

This update is big, 30 pages. And dark. I chose this page to show because it's one of the few that doesn't give away what happens.
