road towards somewhere sunlit

This is the second painting I did for entry into this year's Jaques plein air contest. The photograph didn't quite get it; the sky blends from blue down to a very pale orange, and photographing it in natural light diminished the orange, while photographing it in incandescent light diminished the blue. Well, this is one of the incandescent ones.

I'm guessing this is continuing on the road, after taking the turn toward the duck slough? The leaves which are sunlit are really evocative of morning light.

Actually, it's heading towards the beaver pond, and it's evening light... the photograph makes it look different.
